Certification Requirements:

  • 75%+ of all seafood volume must be U.S.-harvested

  • Traceable to licensed vessels or certified domestic processors

  • No use of banned substances or import relabeling

  • Full cooperation with audits and investigations

Consumers deserve to trust what’s on their plate. This seal helps them do that while rewarding honest American businesses.

What You’ll Need to Submit

You’ll upload the following:

  • Vendor Application Form (online or PDF)
  • Invoices and sourcing logs showing U.S.-caught seafood volumes
  • Harvest records or processor documentation (dock to distributor)
  • Sample labels or menus to verify origin accuracy
    Signed Certification Agreement & Code of Conduct

How We Verify

  • We review your documentation
  • You may be randomly selected for a compliance audit
  • High-risk species may require DNA/species testing
  • Public reports, complaints, or fraud tips may trigger surprise re-verification

Fraud = Consequences

We protect the integrity of the seal.

Any business found misusing the seal or falsifying documents will be:

  • Publicly removed from the registry

  • Reported to USDA, FDA, or local authorities

  • Ineligible for future certification

Cost

A low annual admin fee to fund oversight is  set at $75.00 USD per establishment
